Quality

The detector quality can be chosen quickly and easily from three preset values. Nominally, the number of measuring points in the detector range from 30 thousand on the coarse setting, to 2 million for the fine setting. You can expect low quality detectors to produce statistically significant results in less time at the expense of spatial resolution. This situation is usually acceptable when initially setting up your simulation, and before planning long simulation runs on the fine setting.

Protocol

The protocol options designates the fluence to dose conversion factors to be used when scoring dose during the simulation. H*(10) is ambient dose equivalent, and the AP, PA, LAT, and ISO options indicate effective dose calculations in the anterior-posterior, posterior-anterior, lateral, and isometric/isotropic aspects. All dose results are presented as dose rates in Sv/hr, given the nominated source activity.

Display Options

Several options are available when viewing dose in the 3D viewer. Individual dose compartments from photons, electrons, protons, and neutrons can be turned on or off, the dose rate over which to display dose can be set in Sv/hr, and the planes on which to view the dose in the three cardinal directions can be nominated. Changes to these settings update the display in real-time - no recalculation or re-simulation is necessary.
